All cartoon references aside, we have been up to some exciting things.
As a top performing dealership for AIS, Commercial Works received special recognition for sales achievement.
Todd Hartman, Vice President was proud to receive the award from Ben Maxwell, Senior Vice President of Sales and Bob McCartney, Territory Manager – Midwest.
AIS, a US manufacturer and leader in the industry, boasts one of the most impressive stories of growth and success in the systems furniture market. Once again, The Mart in Chicago hosted the largest commercial interiors trade show in North America. With almost 1 million square feet of exhibition space to walk, two of our interior designers found a colorful space with comfortable seats to take a break.
The shows focus is on commercial design and business trends and is typically used to roll out thousands of new products. Every year a group from Commercial Works attends the three-day event that attracts nearly 50,000 design professionals.
Newly appointed Chief Executive Officer, Randy Weinstein believes you should never underestimate the power of working as a team. A sentiment our Design Team takes to heart while supporting our clients. Their recipe for success? Communication, creative ideas, and collaboration!
While the assignment for each project is different, our mission doesn't change:

Commercial Works announced that the company's President and Chief Executive Officer, Doug Hollingshead, has decided to retire effective May 1, 2016.
"Doug Hollingshead managed the company through challenging markets and the opening of numerous branches," said Dan Cordray - Commercial Works Founder. "I am deeply grateful for his leadership and dedication."
Effective December 1, 2015 two senior leaders, Randy Weinstein and Greg Clark, will assume the top leadership positions of Chief Executive Officer and Chief Operating Officer respectively. Together, Randy and Greg will provide the vision and leadership to continue Commercial Works growth.
Randy Weinstein, currently the Corporate Director of Operations, will assume the role of Chief Executive Officer as of December 1, 2015. Randy was the Cleveland Operations Manager in 1998 promoted to General Manager and then to Corporate Director of Operations in 2006.
Greg Clark has held multiple management positions with Commercial Works, serving as Corporate Director of Operations, before assuming the position of Regional Vice President of the Charlotte Branch in 2006. "I am excited to work closer with our incredible team in the months and years to come," said Greg Clark.
"I've been privileged to be part of this team and to help build this great company," said Doug Hollingshead. "After three decades with the company and ten years as CEO, it's time to move on and hand over the management of Commercial Works to a new generation of leadership. Randy and Greg embody the company's core values and their deep commitment to the team inspires our employees. I look forward to working with Randy and Greg during the transition period, and to being available as an advisor to management after retiring as Chief Executive Officer."

The Furniture Bank of Central Ohio provides free furniture to Central Ohio families and individuals struggling with poverty. Last year they provided furniture to over 4,500 families. Commercial Works volunteers spent the day at the Furniture Bank of Central Ohio building and painting coffee tables for families in need.
The Furniture Bank collects gently used furniture, appliances, and household items; then distributes them free of charge to families trying to move out of difficult situations. Their work gives these families a better chance at establishing a permanent and nurturing home.
Boat 3, Heat 3, Commercial Works Dragon Boat team was breathing fire when they took the lead and barely won the heat by the nose of the dragon. It was the team's first year to participate in the race and the members were proud of finishing first in 1 out of 4 heats.
Commercial Works manned their twenty foot dragon-like canoe with 20 paddlers sitting two by two on ten benches. Sheryl, CWI's front desk administrator, faced the paddlers, furiously beating the drum to keep her teammates strokes in unison.
