One aspect of the relocation pre-planning process often overlooked is decommissioning the vacated space after the move. Commercial Works’ approach to relocation planning includes assisting the client with establishing a list of steps that must occur once the origin site is vacated.
Sustainability is always a consideration when Commercial Works assists clients with relocation planning. On every project, Commercial Works looks for opportunities to minimize waste while maximizing reuse, reallocation, and recycling. With 45+ years of experience and extensive industry and community contacts, Commercial Works has the expertise to develop creative strategies for the elimination of excess furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E) cost-effectively and sustainably.
Commercial Works has experience installing all major office furniture systems including Herman Miller, Steelcase, Haworth, Knoll, Teknion, Hon, AIS, and many other national brands. Commercial Works’ team of well-trained installers systematically complies with manufacturers’ installation warranty guidelines.
All Commercial Works furniture technicians wear company uniforms, are bonded, insured, and covered under Workers’ Compensation policies. Commercial Works routinely handles installation projects of all sizes, from small office installations to complex, multi-phased projects requiring a large field staff.
Commercial Works’ project managers oversee every detail of an installation or reconfiguration, from initial concept to completion. The project manager is the client contact who coordinates with our sales and operations departments to ensure the project runs smoothly, on time, and within budget.
Commercial Works is specifically geared for workplace relocation services and the transportation of high-value equipment. All vehicles are designed and equipped to handle the needs of furniture, electronic equipment, filing systems, and sensitive medical equipment.
Commercial Works is constantly looking for ways to make our move services safer and more sustainable. Except where required by the client, Commercial Works has replaced the use of cardboard boxes with a re-usable plastic crate system. In addition to being a green alternative, crates hold heavier loads, require no tape, and can be stacked four high on a mobile dolly for efficient movement. Commercial Works proactively participates in the recycling of any material (scrap metal, iron, PC’s, etc.) in an ongoing effort to reduce and re-use wherever possible
Commercial Works understands the importance of taking the proper precautions to protect a client’s facility. Protection includes but is not limited to Polynite, a multi-layer, recycled plastic, Ram board, breathable protection for curing concrete, or Masonite for flooring. Care is also taken by using koroflex and cardboard for walls, pads, and cardboard for elevators as well as pads, and furniture paper. Building protection plans are established based upon the unique requirements of each assignment when it must happen consistently.
